Debra Harmady, MD, FAAP, is a 1998-graduate of The Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her postgraduate training includes her pediatric residency served at Monmouth Medical Center (1998-2002). Dr. Harmady completed her undergraduate education at Rutgers University. She attained board certification in pediatrics with the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Harmady is a member of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, where she participates in programs to advocate for children with special needs and behavioral health issues. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Outside her work, she dedicates to gardening, kayaking, cycling, needlepoint, reading, traveling, and spending time with her dogs. Inspired to become a doctor based on her personal experiences of being born with a cleft palate, Dr. Harmady discovered her passion while investigating treatments for malignant melanoma in the molecular biology lab of Dr. Sidney Pestka.
